The December 2006 Featured Artist is Carol Simonds

I am really thrilled to be asked to be "Artist of the Month."

For several years, my friend, Phyllis Rose, in Connecticut talked to me about rubber stamping; I managed to resist getting started in another craft until I visited her.  She introduced me to rubber stamping and started me using chalks, pencils, and embossing.  I was hooked!  I started accumulating supplies but never was quite sure how to use them.

In 2003 I met Helen Barnes who invited me to attend the meetings at Claire's.  Since then, I have been making cards with different techniques and enjoying the friendships of all the Old City Stampers. 

Sandie Koster introduced us to embroidery cards; they are my favorite card to make.

I have given up all the other crafts and enjoy the techniques and challenges of making cards along with all the friendships that come my way.
